Job Summary
The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure the timely completion of construction projects. The role involves coordinating with project teams, tracking progress, identifying delays, preparing reports, and supporting project management in achieving project objectives within the approved timeline and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed project schedules using planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Develop work breakdown structures (WBS), project timelines, and resource plans.
- Monitor project progress and compare actual performance against the baseline schedule.
- Identify schedule deviations, delays, and potential risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, QA/QC, and other departments to obtain project updates.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management and clients.
- Conduct project progress review meetings and maintain progress documentation.
- Analyze project productivity and resource utilization.
- Prepare recovery schedules and revised project plans when required.
- Assist in project budgeting, cost monitoring, and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with project milestones, contractual requirements, and company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of project schedules, reports, and supporting documents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Certification in Primavera P6 or Project Management is an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in planning and scheduling for construction projects.
- Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Good knowledge of construction planning and scheduling techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Knowledge of project control, resource planning, and progress monitoring.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and project specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Pay: ₹13,141.45 - ₹65,238.56 per month
