Physician Assistant – Cardiology & Cath Lab
Key Responsibilities:
- Support cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures (e.g., angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker implantation) in line with established protocols.
- Monitor patients pre- and post-procedure, ensuring timely escalation of concerns to the primary cardiologist.
- Report critical values (e.g., abnormal ECG, troponin levels, hemodynamic instability) immediately to consultants.
- Conduct initial assessments for new cardiology admissions under the guidance of the duty doctor.
- Document daily progress notes and procedure updates in collaboration with the cardiologist.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding procedures, risks, and recovery plans as directed.
- Participate in emergency response for cardiac events (STEMI, arrhythmias, cardiac arrest) following ACLS guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cardiology practices, cath lab protocols, and hospital policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by cardiology department leadership.
