The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and Multi-skilled Road Maintenance Team Member to join the City Amenity team at our Operations Centre in West Footscray.
In this role, you will deliver a range of road and civil maintenance works, including the repair and upkeep of roads, footpaths and street furniture assets, in line with approved programs, specifications and budgets. You will also be responsible for implementing effective traffic management at worksites, ensuring compliance with Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) and relevant Codes of Practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and reactive road, footpath and shared user path maintenance tasks.
- Asphalt works: pothole repairs, footpath, edge breaks, patching, reinstatements and compaction to specification.
- Concrete works: forming, placement and finishing of concrete footpaths, pram ramps and minor K&C patching.
- Pavers and bluestone: minimal lift, relay, re grout and realign to rectify defects including trip hazards and water pooling approx. 5 pavers per site.
- Drainage: maintenance and replacement of side entry pits (concrete, steel, or grate), lids and surrounds; utilising crane mounted truck.
- Laneway: maintenance of laneway, grading and pothole repair as per council practice.
- Street Furniture: Replacement of bike hoops, pre-cleaned and empty bins and concrete pads for bin.
- Signage: carry maintenance of all council signs with working in Heights under 2m limit and traffic management facilities within the municipality.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have the following qualifications:
- Certificate 3 in Civil Construction and Maintenance.
- Current Victorian MR or HR Drivers Licence.
- Certificate of Competency; (i) Basic Worksite Traffic Management, (ii) Spotter, (iii) White Card
- Working with Children card and a clear Police Check record.
Desirable:
- Experience operating a Backhoe/Front-End Loader with a current competency ticket.
- Experience operating a Skid Steer Loader with a current competency ticket.
- Experience operating a Mobile Crane with the appropriate High Risk Work Licence.
