JOB TITLE: CNC/VMC Programmer cum Setter

JOB SUMMARY
Experienced CNC/VMC professional responsible for end-to-end programming
(manual and CAM-based), machine setup, and ensuring accurate, on-time
production of machined components as per engineering drawings.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
PROGRAMMING
– Read engineering drawings and write manual CNC/VMC programs using G-code/M-code.
– Create and optimize CAM toolpaths using Fusion 360 or NX CAM (preferred);
MasterCAM knowledge is an advantage.
– Simulate, verify, and post-process programs for Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi controllers.
– Maintain organized program and CAM file library with revision control.
SETUP & OPERATION
– Set up cutting tools, fixtures, work offsets, and tool offsets on CNC/VMC machines.
– Execute first-article inspection and adjust offsets/programs to achieve
dimensional conformance.
– Monitor production runs and make real-time corrections as needed.
TROUBLESHOOTING
– Diagnose and resolve issues related to program execution, tool wear,
and dimensional deviations.
– Document corrective actions and non-conformances for future reference.
TEAM & QUALITY
– Coordinate with design and quality teams to ensure drawing requirements are met.
– Follow 5S, safety, and ISO 9001:2015 QMS practices on the shop floor.
– Guide junior operators/setters in setup and safe machine operation.
DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
– ITI / Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
– 3 to 5 years of hands-on CNC/VMC programming, setting, and operating experience.
– Proficient in manual G-code programming and CAM software u2014
Fusion 360 / NX CAM preferred.
– Familiar with Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi CNC controllers.
– Ability to read engineering drawings including basic GD&T.
– Skilled in precision measuring instruments (vernier, micrometer, bore gauge, etc.).
