About the Role
We are looking for a responsible, organized, and detail-oriented Clerk cum Accountant to handle day-to-day administrative, clerical, and accounting activities of the school. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, handling documentation, supporting office operations, and assisting in communication with students, parents, staff, and management.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
- Knowledge and experience of UDISE and Saral portal is must
- Maintain daily accounting records, cash book, ledgers, vouchers, receipts, and payment records.
- Handle school fee collection and maintain accurate fee records.
- Prepare bills, receipts, payment vouchers, and other financial documents.
- Maintain records of income and expenditure.
- Assist in bank-related transactions, deposits, reconciliation, and correspondence.
- Maintain staff salary and payroll-related records.
- Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and documentation required by management.
- Ensure proper filing and maintenance of financial records and supporting documents.
- Coordinate with auditors and provide required records when necessary.
Clerical & Administrative Work
- Maintain student, staff, and school administrative records.
- Prepare letters, notices, reports, statements, and official correspondence.
- Handle data entry and maintain records in Excel or school management software.
- Maintain physical and digital files systematically.
- Assist the Principal/Management with routine office and administrative work.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, emails, and office communications.
- Coordinate with parents, students, staff, and external agencies professionally.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial, student, and staff information.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and email communication.
- Knowledge of accounting software such as Tally/ERP or similar software will be an advantage.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain records and documentation systematically.
- Good time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Professional and courteous behaviour while dealing with parents, students, staff, and visitors.
Educational Qualification
- Minimum: Graduate degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent qualification.
- Candidates with additional qualifications/certifications in accounting will be preferred.
Experience
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in accounting, clerical, school/educational administration, or office management preferred.
- Freshers with strong accounting and computer skills may also be considered.
