We are looking for a skilled Web Developer (PHP/WordPress) to join our team in Mohali. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience developing, customizing, and maintaining responsive websites and web applications using PHP and WordPress.
You will work closely with designers, project managers, SEO specialists, and other developers to build fast, secure, user-friendly, and high-performing websites for clients across different industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites and PHP-based web applications.
- Convert UI/UX designs into responsive, pixel-perfect, and functional web pages.
- Develop custom WordPress themes, templates, and functionalities.
- Customize and integrate WordPress plugins based on project requirements.
- Write clean, reusable, scalable, and well-documented PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code.
- Develop and integrate REST APIs and third-party services.
- Work with MySQL databases and perform basic database queries and troubleshooting.
- Optimize websites for speed, performance, mobile responsiveness, and SEO best practices.
- Identify, debug, and resolve website errors, bugs, and technical issues.
- Ensure websites are compatible across major browsers and devices.
- Implement website security best practices, updates, backups, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with designers, SEO teams, project managers, and other developers to deliver projects on time.
- Conduct testing and quality checks before website deployment.
- Maintain and improve existing client websites as required.
- Stay updated with the latest WordPress, PHP, web development, and security practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1–4 years of professional experience in Web Development.
- Strong hands-on experience with WordPress and PHP.
- Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web design.
- Experience with WordPress theme and plugin customization.
- Understanding of PHP frameworks such as Laravel or CodeIgniter is a plus.
- Good knowledge of MySQL and database management.
- Experience working with REST APIs and third-party API integrations.
- Familiarity with Git/version control systems.
- Understanding of website performance optimization and basic SEO requirements.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Good communication and time-management skills.
Good to Have
- Experience developing custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch.
- Knowledge of WooCommerce and e-commerce website development.
- Familiarity with Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg, or other WordPress page builders.
- Experience with JavaScript libraries/frameworks such as React.js or Vue.js.
- Knowledge of Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS.
- Basic understanding of Linux hosting, cPanel, DNS, and website deployment.
- Familiarity with Docker or cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Understanding of CI/CD workflows.
- Experience working on websites for international clients.
- Portfolio of live WordPress/PHP websites or relevant GitHub projects.
