Job description:
We are looking for a passionate and qualified Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) of English to join our esteemed CBSE-affiliated school. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the English language and literature, with the ability to teach both literature and language skills to senior secondary students (Classes XI & XII). The candidate must also be adept at designing and implementing engaging, student-centered lessons that support the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching & Instruction:
- Teach English language and literature to students in Classes XI and XII following the CBSE curriculum.
- Prepare detailed lesson plans, teaching resources, and materials that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Conduct assessments, provide feedback, and monitor students' academic progress.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
- Prepare students for board examinations, including conducting revision sessions, mock tests, and providing personalized support.
- Curriculum Development & Implementation:
- Review and implement the latest CBSE syllabus for English effectively.
- Adapt teaching strategies to suit the learning needs of individual students.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and analysis through literature-based discussions, debates, and writing assignments.
- Student Engagement & Development:
- Inspire and motivate students to improve their English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Help students build analytical skills and develop an appreciation for literature and poetry.
- Address students' academic challenges, providing remedial support when necessary.
- Collaborative Activities:
- Work closely with other English teachers and school staff to ensure alignment with curriculum and student needs.
- Organize extracurricular activities like debate clubs, drama performances, or literature-related competitions.
- Parent-Teacher Communication:
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress, areas of concern, and upcoming assessments.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and provide constructive feedback on student development.
- Professional Development:
- Stay updated with the latest trends in English teaching methods, literature, and CBSE guidelines.
- Attend school training sessions, workshops, and other professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in English (MA English) from a recognized university.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent qualification.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience teaching English at the senior secondary level in a CBSE school (preferred).
- Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent command over the English language (both written and verbal).
- Strong knowledge of the CBSE curriculum and exam patterns.
- Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using technology for teaching (e.g., smart boards, online learning platforms).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to ₹45,000.00 per month
