Job Summary
The Diploma Engineer Trainee (DET) will assist in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining passenger vehicles while gaining practical exposure to workshop operations, quality standards, and customer satisfaction processes. The trainee will work under the guidance of senior technicians and supervisors to develop technical expertise in automobile servicing.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist technicians in carrying out periodic maintenance and repairs on passenger vehicles.
- Perform vehicle inspections and identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot vehicle issues.
- Support pre-delivery inspection (PDI) and quality check activities.
- Ensure proper usage and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Maintain service records and job cards accurately.
- Coordinate with spare parts and service teams for timely vehicle repairs.
- Participate in technical training programs conducted by the manufacturer.
- Maintain cleanliness and 5S standards within the workshop.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Automobile Engineering.
- Freshers or candidates with up to 2 years of experience in automobile workshops may apply.
Skills Required
- Basic knowledge of automobile systems and components.
- Understanding of vehicle diagnostics and repair procedures.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Good communication and learning attitude.
- Knowledge of MS Office is an added advantage.
Preferred Industry Experience
Experience in a passenger vehicle dealership workshop, preferably in Tata Motors, is desirable.
