Position :- Boiler Attendant
Location :- Nandasan, Gujarat
Timing :- 8 am to 6 pm (2 weekoff)
Experience:- 3 to 6 Year
Job Description:-
Role Objective:-
The Boiler Attendant is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of IBR-certified steam boilers to ensure an uninterrupted steam supply for plant operations. The role includes boiler operation, monitoring critical parameters, fuel and combustion management, water treatment, preventive maintenance support, safety compliance, and maintaining statutory records as per regulatory requirements.
KRA:-
Boiler Operation & Steam Supply Management
- Operate and monitor 300 kg/hr and 1000 kg/hr IBR boilers safely.
- Ensure continuous steam availability for production requirements.
- Perform boiler start-up, shutdown, and load adjustment activities.
- Monitor steam pressure, temperature, and boiler operating conditions.
- Ensure smooth boiler operation without production interruption.
Boiler Monitoring & Process Control:-
Monitor:-
- Steam pressure
- Temperature
- Feed water parameters
- Fuel consumption
- Combustion efficiency
Check functioning of:
- Safety valves
- Gauges
- Controls
- Interlocks
Identify abnormal conditions and take corrective actions.
Fuel Handling & Combustion Management:-
- Monitor fuel supply and fuel handling systems.
- Ensure proper burner operation and combustion efficiency.
- Identify fuel-related issues and coordinate corrective actions.
- Support energy conservation initiatives.
Boiler Water Treatment & Chemical Dosing
- Perform routine boiler water testing.
- Monitor water quality parameters.
- Carry out chemical dosing as per requirement.
- Coordinate with utility/QA teams for water quality control.
Preventive Maintenance & Inspection
- Conduct routine inspection of boiler equipment.
Check:
- Burners
- Pumps
- Valves
- Fuel systems
- Utility equipment
- Report abnormalities and maintenance requirements.
- Support maintenance activities for reliable boiler operation.
Breakdown Handling & Troubleshooting
- Identify boiler operational faults.
- Troubleshoot basic issues related to:
- Burner systems
- Fuel supply
- Feed water systems
- Controls and instrumentation
- Escalate major breakdowns to maintenance team.
- Support quick restoration of boiler operation
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- IBR requirements
- Factory safety standards
- Boiler operation procedures
- Follow safe working practices and PPE requirements.
- Maintain safe boiler house operations.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain boiler logbooks and statutory records.
- Operating parameters
- Water test results
- Fuel consumption
- Maintenance activities
- Maintain shift handover reports.
- Ensure records are updated for audits and inspections.
Housekeeping & Utility Area Management
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of boiler house area.
- Ensure proper storage of tools and materials.
- Maintain safe and organized working conditions.
- Follow 5S practices.
