About the Role
P99Soft Pvt Ltd looking for a skilled Animator with strong Unity animation implementation experience to create, integrate, and polish high-quality character and gameplay animations. This role requires hands-on expertise working directly within Unity, building responsive animation systems that support engaging gameplay experiences.The ideal candidate understands both the creative and technical aspects of animation, with proven experience implementing animations using Unity's animation tools, state machines, blend trees, and gameplay-driven animation workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, implement, and polish high-quality character and gameplay animations.
- Develop animations for core gameplay actions including locomotion, combat, interactions, and gameplay-specific mechanics such as slingshot/stretch-and-release systems.
- Implement and maintain animation systems within Unity using Animator Controllers, Blend Trees, Animation Layers, State Machines, and Timeline.
- Collaborate closely with Designers, Engineers, and Artists to ensure animations are responsive, performant, and support gameplay requirements.
- Integrate animations with gameplay logic, physics systems, and character controllers.
- Tune animation transitions, timing, and responsiveness to enhance player experience.
- Troubleshoot and resolve animation, rigging, and implementation issues within Unity.
- Optimize animation assets and systems for performance across target platforms.
- Participate in animation reviews and iterate on feedback to achieve a high level of polish.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of professional experience as an Animator in games, interactive entertainment, or real-time applications.
- Strong hands-on experience implementing animations directly in Unity.
- Deep understanding of Unity animation systems, including:
- Mechanism
- Animator Controllers
- Blend Trees
- State Machines
- Animation Layers
- Timeline
- Experience animating humanoid characters and gameplay-driven actions.
- Experience creating and implementing animations for physics-based gameplay mechanics.
- Strong understanding of animation fundamentals, including:
- Timing and spacing
- Anticipation
- Squash and stretch
- Follow-through and overlap
- Weight and motion clarity
- Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional development teams.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with root motion, animation retargeting, and IK systems.
- Experience with ragdoll setups and physics-driven animation workflows.
- Basic knowledge of C# scripting and animation-related gameplay integration.
- Experience developing mobile, casual, or action-oriented games.
- Familiarity with motion capture pipelines and animation cleanup workflows.
- Experience with content creation tools such as Autodesk Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.
- Understanding of character rigging and animation export pipelines.
