Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced AWS Lead Storage Consultant to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable, secure, and resilient storage solutions on AWS. You will partner with cloud architects, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to drive storage modernization, cloud migrations, disaster recovery, and automation initiatives while ensuring performance, security, and cost efficiency.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Design and architect enterprise-scale storage solutions using AWS native services.
Lead storage transformation and migration projects from on-premises and hybrid environments to AWS.
Build secure, highly available, and cost-optimized storage architectures.
Implement and manage services including Amazon S3, EBS, EFS, FSx, AWS Backup, DataSync, Storage Gateway, and Elastic Disaster Recovery.
Develop backup, archival, and disaster recovery strategies aligned with business RTO/RPO objectives.
Optimize storage performance, scalability, lifecycle management, and cloud costs.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and storage operations using Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, and scripting languages.
Implement security best practices, including IAM, KMS encryption, bucket policies, and compliance controls.
Monitor storage environments, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-first storage solutions.
Provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and support architecture reviews and customer engagements.
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of experience in enterprise storage and infrastructure technologies.
5+ years of hands-on experience designing and managing AWS storage solutions.
Strong expertise in Amazon S3, EBS, EFS, FSx, AWS Backup, DataSync, Storage Gateway, and related AWS services.
Experience with storage migration, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity planning.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Strong understanding of storage protocols (NFS, SMB/CIFS, iSCSI), networking, and security.
Experience with monitoring, performance tuning, and cost optimization in AWS.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or Security Specialty.
Experience with enterprise storage platforms such as NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, or Hitachi.
Exposure to Kubernetes, container storage, and hybrid cloud environments.
Experience leading customer-facing cloud transformation or consulting engagements.
