JOB SUMMARY
The Billing Executive is responsible for accurate and timely preparation of patient bills for outpatient (OP), inpatient (IP), emergency, diagnostic, pharmacy, and other hospital services. The role ensures proper billing procedures, insurance coordination, payment collection support, documentation, and compliance with hospital policies and NABH standards.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce / Accounting / Business Administration or related field
- Computer knowledge mandatory
- Knowledge of Hospital Information System (HIS) preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in hospital billing preferred
- Fresher with good computer knowledge may also be considered
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Billing Operations
- Prepare accurate patient bills for OP, IP, emergency, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, and other services
- Verify charges, investigations, procedures, medicines, and consumables before bill generation
- Ensure timely billing and discharge bill preparation
- Process advance collections and final settlements
Patient Coordination
- Explain billing details and payment procedures to patients and attendants
- Handle billing-related queries politely and professionally
- Coordinate with departments regarding pending entries and clarifications
Insurance & TPA Coordination
- Assist in insurance and TPA billing documentation
- Verify approvals and authorization details
- Coordinate with insurance desk for claim processing
Cash & Payment Handling
- Receive payments through cash, card, UPI, cheque, or online modes as authorized
- Issue receipts for all payments received
- Maintain daily payment records and settlement reports
- Handover collected cash and records to accounts department as per policy
Documentation & Records
- Maintain billing registers and transaction records
- Ensure proper filing of bills, receipts, approvals, and supporting documents
- Maintain confidentiality of patient financial information
NABH & Compliance
- Follow NABH standards related to billing transparency and patient rights
- Ensure accuracy and ethical billing practices
- Report billing discrepancies immediately to the supervisor
Coordination
- Coordinate with nursing stations, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, MRD, and accounts department
- Support smooth patient discharge process

AUTHORITY
The Billing Executive has the authority to:
- Generate and process patient bills as per hospital policy
- Collect payments and issue authorized receipts
- Escalate billing discrepancies to higher authorities
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
