This is a global artist management company's India outfit, representing and working with talent across the LIVE entertainment ecosystem. The company works with artists, brands, event companies, promoters and other industry partners to create and commercialise opportunities for its artist roster (LIVE segment primarily).
Role Overview
We are looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager who will be responsible for creating and closing business opportunities for the agency and its artists.
The role will involve artist bookings, live shows, festivals, weddings, private and corporate events, brand partnerships and new entertainment opportunities.
This is a relationship-driven role for someone who understands the entertainment industry, enjoys working with people and has the ability to turn industry relationships into actual business.
The person will work closely with artists and their teams while also building relationships with promoters, event companies, agencies, brands and other industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Revenue Generation
- Build and continuously develop a strong pipeline of business opportunities for the agency's artist roster.
- Generate opportunities for artists across live performances, concerts, festivals, weddings, private events and corporate events.
- Identify potential clients, promoters, event companies, agencies and brands and develop relationships with them.
- Pitch suitable artists for relevant events and commercial opportunities.
- Take the lead in discussions, negotiations and commercial closure of artist bookings and partnerships.
- Follow up on leads and opportunities and ensure that the sales pipeline keeps moving.
- Identify new markets, clients and revenue opportunities for the artist roster.
- Develop long-term relationships with clients so that bookings become repeat business.
2. Artist Business & Booking
- Act as the sales/business representative for selected key artists on the roster.
- Understand each artist's positioning, audience, strengths and commercial potential.
- Identify the right opportunities for different artists rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
- Coordinate with artists and their management teams while developing and closing opportunities.
- Ensure that commercial discussions with clients are handled professionally and efficiently.
- Be involved in important meetings and events wherever required.
3. Brand Partnerships
- Identify opportunities for artists to work with brands across different categories.
- Develop and pitch ideas for brand collaborations, endorsements, appearances, content partnerships and artist-led experiences.
- Build relationships with marketing teams, agencies and brand decision-makers.
- Work with internal teams and artists to develop commercially viable partnership proposals.
- Negotiate and close brand-related opportunities.
4. Live IPs, Tours & Experiences
- Help develop and commercialise the agency's own live/event IPs.
- Explore opportunities to create artist-led tours, concerts and branded entertainment experiences.
- Identify partners, sponsors, venues and commercial opportunities for such initiatives.
- Work with relevant internal and external teams to take these ideas from concept to execution and revenue generation.
5. Industry & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with:
- Event management companies
- Concert and festival promoters
- Wedding and private event planners
- Corporate event agencies
- Advertising and creative agencies
- Brands and marketing teams
- Entertainment platforms and networks
- Other industry professionals and decision-makers
- Act as one of the agency's key points of contact for external industry relationships.
- Keep track of what's happening in the live entertainment and artist ecosystem and identify relevant opportunities for the agency's roster.
6. Internal Coordination
- Maintain clear and regular communication with artists and their teams.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure that opportunities move smoothly from initial enquiry to closure.
- Keep track of discussions, proposals, negotiations and confirmed bookings.
- Ensure that commitments made to clients and artists are clearly communicated to all relevant stakeholders.
- Be available to attend important client meetings, artist meetings and events when required.
What We Are Looking For
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in business development, artist management, talent management, live entertainment, events, brand partnerships or a related field.
- Strong existing relationships within the entertainment, events, artist management or brand ecosystem would be a major advantage.
- Good understanding of artist bookings and the live entertainment business.
- Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to identify business opportunities and convert them into actual revenue.
- Comfortable speaking to senior clients, promoters, agencies, brands and artists.
- Commercially minded and comfortable with targets and negotiations.
- Strong follow-up skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Passion for music, entertainment and the artist ecosystem.
- Willingness to travel and be present at events/meetings when required.
Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
