About This Opportunity
Tricity Smiles Dentistry is a boutique dental practice in Chandigarh offering a high-standard, patient-centred experience under the direct supervision of a US-trained dentist. Every patient interaction is intentional, thorough, and held to international standards of care.
This is a structured Clinical Observership with a direct pathway to a paid Associate Dentist role. It is designed for dentists who want genuine, high-quality clinical exposure.
The observership begins with one month of unpaid shadowing and supervised chairside learning. At the end of Month 1, if there is a mutual fit, you transition into a paid Associate role. This structure exists because the right cultural and clinical fit matters more to us than filling a seat quickly.
Who This Is For
- Fresh BDS or MDS graduates looking for real-world, structured clinical exposure before committing to independent practice
- MDS candidates (including Pediatric Dentistry) who want mentored experience in a multi-specialty setting
- Dentists planning to pursue postgraduate education or licensure abroad (US, Canada, UK, Australia) who want to understand how internationally-standard dental clinics are run and who value a letter of recommendation from a US-trained dentist
- Local to Chandigarh or surrounding areas, with reliable personal transportation and the ability to commute Monday through Saturday
What You Will Do
You will work alongside the lead dentist in a purely chairside capacity. Your role is to observe, assist, absorb, and participate — not to see patients independently.
- Shadow and assist during dental procedures across specialties: restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, pediatric, surgical, and cosmetic
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure instruments and materials are set up correctly before each procedure
- Perform supervised basic clinical procedures: prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, digital impressions, sealants, fluoride application, and temporary crowns
- Take and process digital dental radiographs under supervision
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans as guided by the lead dentist
- Sterilize and maintain instruments following strict infection control protocols
What You Will Learn
- Comprehensive oral examinations using digital X-rays, intraoral photography, and 3D scans
- Restorative procedures including composite restorations, ceramic crowns, inlays, onlays, and bridges
- Pediatric dentistry including sealants, pulpotomies, and esthetic crowns
- Endodontics including root canal treatments with modern rotary and obturation protocols
- Oral surgery including extractions, implant placement, and bone grafting
- Cosmetic dentistry including veneers, smile design, whitening, and composite bonding
- Orthodontics including Invisalign treatment planning and case management
- Sedation dentistry including nitrous oxide and electronically controlled anaesthetic delivery
- Infection control, clinical documentation, and workflow standards aligned with US dental practice protocols
What We Are Looking For
- Punctual, motivated, and genuinely eager to learn
- Strong communication skills with proficiency in English
- Comfortable engaging with patients on camera and in person
- Detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and respectful of a structured clinical environment
Observership Structure & Compensation
- Month 1 is an unpaid clinical observership. You shadow, assist chairside, and learn. This is your time to evaluate us as much as it is our time to evaluate you.
- If it is a mutual fit at the end of Month 1, you transition into a paid Associate Dentist role with a monthly salary in the range of ₹18,000 – ₹25,000, depending on your qualification, experience, and skill set.
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm | Saturday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
