As Credit Risk Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening Regional Australia Bank's credit risk capability and supporting sustainable growth across our lending portfolio. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll provide expert advice, lead risk initiatives, enhance credit frameworks and policies, and deliver insights that inform strategic decision-making. This is an opportunity to apply your expertise in a role that balances risk, innovation and commercial outcomes, while helping a customer-owned bank continue to support the success of regional communities.
What you'll be doing
- Lead complex credit risk projects and framework enhancements.
- Review and refine underwriting standards and risk settings.
- Deliver portfolio insights and risk analysis to support decision-making.
- Drive system and process improvements that strengthen controls and consistency.
- Provide specialist credit risk advice, training and support across the business.
- Contribute to credit decisioning, governance, assurance and regulatory compliance activities.
Key Skills & Experience
- Credit risk management, lending policy, underwriting or portfolio risk management experience.
- Strong understanding of consumer, SME, commercial and agribusiness lending.
- Experience developing and enhancing credit risk frameworks within a regulated financial services environment.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Sound knowledge of Australian banking regulations, prudential requirements and risk management principles.
- Ability to interpret data and provide meaningful portfolio insights and recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
- Experience driving process, system and control improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex risk concepts into practical business outcomes.
