Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for agricultural equipment and machinery. The candidate should have strong design knowledge, hands-on experience with SolidWorks, and a sound understanding of manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and equipment using SolidWorks.
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and manufacturing drawings.
- Perform engineering calculations, design analysis, and feasibility studies.
- Develop and optimize components for performance, manufacturability, and cost.
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM) and engineering documentation.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and quality teams during product development.
- Ensure designs comply with customer requirements and applicable engineering standards.
- Support prototype development, testing, and product validation.
- Resolve design and manufacturing issues during production.
- Coordinate with customers to understand technical requirements and provide design solutions.
- Participate in product improvement and value engineering activities.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in agricultural machinery or equipment manufacturing.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and detailing.
- Strong knowledge of engineering calculations and mechanical design analysis.
- Experience in component and assembly design.
- Good understanding of sheet metal design and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of heat treatment processes and material selection.
- Experience in preparing manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
- Familiarity with engineering standards, GD&T, and tolerances is preferred.
