Job Summary:
We're seeking an exceptional Purchase and Assistant Store Manager to join our restaurant team. As a key member of our operations team, you'll oversee purchasing, inventory management, store operations, and chiller/butchery area management in driving business success. Key Responsibilities:
Purchase:
- Manage procurement processes, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchases
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions to optimize procurement costs
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor activity, and new products
- Identify and source high-quality food items, ingredients, and supplies
- Ensure compliance with company policies, budgets, and regulatory requirements
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels, track stock movements, and optimize storage
- Conduct regular stock checks, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions
- Ensure timely rotation of stock, minimizing waste and obsolescence
- Alert management to potential stock issues, such as expiry dates, damage, or shortages
Chiller/Butchery Area Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the chiller and butchery areas
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of perishable goods
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality control
- Monitor temperature controls, sanitation, and equipment maintenance
- Manage inventory of meat, poultry, seafood, and other perishable items
Store Operations:
- Manage daily store operations, ensuring timely and organized execution
- Supervise staff, providing guidance, training, and support
- Support sales initiatives, promotions, and events
Leadership and Training:
- Train and develop assistants to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration
- Coach staff on inventory management, customer service, and operational procedures
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods, ensuring safe handling and storage
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and achieve business objectives
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and efficiency gains
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-7 years of proven experience in purchase, inventory management, store operations, and/or food safety
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
- Familiarity with food safety, hygiene, and regulatory requirements
