About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Executive Pastry Chef / Head Chef with expertise in laminated doughs, puff pastry, croissants, and artisanal baking. You will be responsible for building Puff Society’s signature menu, setting up production systems, training the kitchen team, and ensuring consistent premium quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and standardize signature puff pastry recipes including savory and sweet variants (e.g., truffle mushroom, spinach & feta, butter chicken, pistachio cream, almond frangipane).
- Lead production of puff pastries, croissants, sourdough breads, sandwiches, and baked products.
- Set up SOPs, recipes, yield sheets, and quality standards for scalable operations.
- Train and supervise bakery staff, commis chefs, and kitchen assistants.
- Ensure consistency in taste, lamination, baking quality, and presentation across all batches.
- Work with management to create seasonal menus, gifting boxes, and party pack offerings.
- Manage kitchen hygiene, food safety, inventory, and wastage control.
- Assist in selecting bakery equipment and optimizing kitchen workflow.
- Collaborate with the Operations Head on production planning, delivery timelines, and scaling strategies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in pastry, viennoiserie, or artisanal bakery operations.
- Strong expertise in laminated doughs, puff pastry, croissants, and deck oven production.
- Experience in setting up or managing a premium bakery/café kitchen is preferred.
- Ability to create innovative products aligned with modern café and gifting trends.
- Strong leadership, training, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of food costing, inventory control, and hygiene standards.
- Passion for building a distinctive bakery brand from the ground up.
