We are looking for an experienced Algolia Consultant with strong Adobe Commerce / Magento
expertise to help design, implement, optimize, and scale Algolia Search & Discovery for
ecommerce storefronts.
The consultant should have hands-on experience in Algolia search relevance, merchandising,
recommendations, personalization, hyper-personalization, analytics, and Adobe Commerce /
Magento integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Review the existing Adobe Commerce / Magento search and discovery setup.
- Audit current Algolia configuration, indexing, frontend integration, and search performance.
- Design the Algolia search architecture for products, categories, suggestions, content, and
recommendations.
- Configure searchable attributes, ranking rules, custom ranking, facets, filters, replicas,
synonyms, redirects, and query rules.
- Optimize search relevance for business-critical queries and customer journeys.
- Configure Algolia recommendation use cases such as related products, frequently bought
together, trending products, similar products, and personalized recommendations.
- Support personalization and hyper-personalization strategies based on customer behavior,
segments, location, intent, purchase history, browsing history, and campaign rules.
- Improve autocomplete, instant search, product listing, category discovery, zero-results
handling, and mobile search experience.
- Support merchandising rules such as boosting, de-boosting, pinning, burying, campaign
based promotion, seasonal search rules, and category-level discovery.
- Validate product visibility, stock, price, customer group, store view, language, and category
behavior in Algolia.
- Enable and validate analytics, click tracking, conversion tracking, insights, and search
performance KPIs.
- Work with Magento developers to implement required frontend/backend customizations.
- Support QA, UAT, go-live, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Train ecommerce, merchandising, and technical teams on Algolia operations and
governance.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of ecommerce implementation or consulting experience.
- 3+ years of Adobe Commerce / Magento 2 experience.
- Proven hands-on experience with Algolia on Adobe Commerce / Magento.
Strong knowledge of Algolia Search, Autocomplete, InstantSearch, Recommend,
Personalization, Rules, Synonyms, Facets, Replicas, Analytics, and Insights.
- Experience with ecommerce search relevance, product discovery, recommendation
strategy, and merchandising.
- Good understanding of Magento products, categories, attributes, store views, customer
groups, pricing, visibility, stock, indexing, cron, and cache.
- Experience with multi-store, multi-language, and multi-currency ecommerce setups.
- Ability to troubleshoot search, indexing, relevance, and frontend integration issues.
- Strong communication, documentation, and knowledge-transfer skills.
Preferred Skills
- Adobe Commerce Cloud experience.
- Hyvä, PWA Studio, or headless Magento experience.
- Experience with large catalogs and complex product attributes.
- Experience with B2B ecommerce, marketplace, or multi-brand retail.
- Experience with AI-driven search, personalization, product recommendations, and
customer segmentation.
- Experience integrating Algolia with analytics, CDP, CRM, ERP, PIM, OMS, or marketing
automation platforms.
- Adobe Commerce or Algolia certification is a plus.
