Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Astronomy Educator who can inspire students through engaging learning experiences in astronomy and space science. The role involves conducting interactive sessions, hands-on activities, and stargazing programs for students across schools and institutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Session Delivery
- Conduct astronomy sessions in schools and institutions
- Deliver interactive workshops on space science concepts
- Simplify complex astronomy topics for different age groups
- Use models, simulations, and activities for experiential learning
Stargazing & Practical Learning
- Conduct telescope-based stargazing sessions
- Guide students in identifying celestial objects
- Ensure safe handling of equipment
Content & Activity Development
- Assist in designing astronomy curriculum & session plans
- Develop engaging learning activities and demonstrations
- Support creation of educational material
Student Engagement
- Encourage curiosity and scientific thinking
- Address student queries effectively
- Create an inspiring and interactive classroom environment
Program Support
- Support execution of events, workshops, and science programs
- Travel to partner schools / sites when required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science / Astronomy / Physics / Education
- Strong knowledge of basic astronomy concepts
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to engage students of different age groups
- Willingness to travel for school sessions
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching / training experience
- Hands-on experience with telescopes
- Passion for space science education
