Job Summary
The Senior Purchase Manager will be responsible for leading the procurement function by ensuring timely sourcing of raw materials, packaging materials, engineering items, imported chemicals, and indirect purchases at optimum cost while maintaining quality and uninterrupted production. The role involves strategic sourcing, vendor development, contract negotiation, inventory optimization, and procurement compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to reduce costs and improve supply reliability.
- Source and procure raw materials, specialty chemicals, solvents, packaging materials, engineering spares, and consumables.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new domestic and international suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and annual rate agreements.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to support production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock without affecting operations.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, QA, R&D, Stores, and Finance departments.
- Monitor market trends and raw material price fluctuations.
- Conduct vendor audits and supplier performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ISO standards, and statutory requirements.
- Prepare purchase budgets, cost-saving reports, and procurement analytics.
- Lead and mentor the purchase team while driving continuous process improvements.
- Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, and commercial matters.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain, or Commerce.
- MBA in Supply Chain/Operations/Materials Management preferred. (But not Mandatory)
Experience
- 09- 10 years of procurement experience in chemicals, lubricants , packaging material and consumable manufacturing industry.
- At least 5 years in a managerial role.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
