Key Responsibilities
- Set up and prepare 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machining centres for production.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and process sheets.
- Load and set fixtures, cutting tools, and work offsets according to setup documentation.
- Perform tool presetting, tool length/radius compensation, and machine calibration.
- Conduct first-off inspection and ensure components meet quality requirements.
- Optimise machining parameters to improve productivity, tool life, and cycle time.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
- Support CAM programmers during prove-out and new product introduction (NPI).
- Perform tool changes, offset corrections, and routine machine maintenance.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment following 5S practices.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to achieve production targets.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a CNC Setter in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience with 3, 4 & 5-axis CNC machining centres.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens, FANUC, and/or Heidenhain CNC controllers.
- Good knowledge of CNC milling operations and machining principles.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
- Experience setting up fixtures, vises, hydraulic fixtures, and precision tooling.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, tool holders, and machining parameters.
- Experience machining Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Titanium, and Inconel is preferred.
- Ability to independently prove out new jobs and support production.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, or Aeronautical Engineering.
- Experience in Aerospace, Defence, Precision Engineering, or High-Mix Low-Volume Manufacturing will be an advantage.
