Job Summary : Job Description: Senior AVD Infrastructure Engineer (MBO on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Operations Support) Position Summary The Senior AVD Infrastructure Engineer will serve as the technical lead responsible for the operational support, stability, performance, and continuous improvement of the MBO (Multi Blend Optimizer) application hosted on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). This role will provide L3 engineering support for AVD infrastructure, image lifecycle management, application delivery, automation, monitoring, incident resolution, change implementation, and operational governance. The engineer will work closely with application SMEs, Azure platform teams, cybersecurity teams, and operations teams to ensure a secure, highly available, and optimized user experience for RightAngle/MBO users. The role aligns with AVD infrastructure management, image engineering, application publishing, operational handover, and support activities defined in the AVD support model. Key Responsibilities AVD Platform Operations & Support • Serve as the L3 technical escalation point for RightAngle/MBO application services hosted on Azure Virtual Desktop. • Manage and support AVD host pools, session hosts, workspaces, application groups, FSLogix profiles, and supporting Azure services. • Monitor platform health, performance, availability, capacity, and user experience. • Perform incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis for infrastructure, application delivery, profile, authentication, and connectivity issues. • Support production environment stability and operational excellence through proactive monitoring and service reviews. • Collaborate with Microsoft, Chevron platform teams, and application vendors to resolve complex technical issues. • Participate in major incident management, problem management, and service restoration activities. Image Management & Patch Compliance • Own the AVD Golden Image lifecycle for RightAngle/MBO environments. • Manage monthly image updates, Windows patching, security remediations, application updates, and validation activities. • Execute image build automation processes and maintain image version governance. • Validate image integrity, security compliance, and operational readiness prior to production deployment. • Coordinate image deployment schedules and maintenance windows with stakeholders. • Troubleshoot image build failures, patching issues, and application compatibility concerns. • Maintain image engineering documentation and deployment procedures. RightAngle Application Support • Support RightAngle/MBO application delivery through RemoteApp • Coordinate with RightAngle/MBO SMEs for application upgrades, testing, and operational support activities. • Troubleshoot application launch failures, performance bottlenecks, integration issues, and user access concerns. • Validate application functionality after image updates, platform changes, and maintenance activities. • Support business-critical production workloads with minimal downtime. • Ensure RightAngle/MBO environment compliance with business and operational requirements. • Support on Scheduled DLL, DSN & Config file sync related issues Monitoring, Automation & Performance Optimization • Implement and support monitoring solutions using: o Azure Monitor o Log Analytics o Nexthink o Nerdio Manager o Azure Workbooks and Dashboards • Develop automation solutions using: o PowerShell o Azure Automation o Azure Functions o Logic Apps o Nerdio Automation • Perform trend analysis and capacity planning. • Drive operational efficiency through automation and self-healing solutions. • Optimize user experience, session performance, login duration, profile performance, and host utilization. • Provide recommendations for cost optimization and resource utilization.
