The Role
This is an entry-level role for someone who wants to learn international freight forwarding properly, from the ground up.
You will start by supporting senior operations staff — preparing documents, tracking shipments, following up with vendors. As you learn the process, you will take on your own shipments and eventually run them end to end, from booking to delivery.
We are not looking for someone who already knows logistics. We are looking for someone who is careful with details, follows up without being chased, and genuinely wants to build a career in this industry.
What You'll Learn and Do
In the first few months, with guidance:
- Prepare and check shipping documents — invoices, packing lists, AWB/HAWB, Bill of Lading, shipping bills, certificates of origin
- Track shipments and update the system daily
- Follow up with transporters, CHAs, and vendors on pickups, clearances, and deliveries
- Maintain organised job files that anyone on the team can pick up and understand
- Support the team on data entry, filing, and coordination
As you grow into the role:
- Coordinate directly with airlines, shipping lines, and overseas agents on bookings and schedules
- Handle customs clearance follow-ups and resolve queries or holds
- Communicate shipment status directly to clients
- Own complete shipments end to end
- Work with the accounts team on job costing and invoicing accuracy
Throughout, one thing matters most: flag problems early. We would much rather hear about a delay today than an excuse tomorrow.
What We're Looking For
Required
- Graduate in any stream (B.Com, BBA, BA, B.Sc — all welcome)
- Strong attention to detail; comfortable checking documents carefully
- Clear written and spoken English; Hindi and Bengali are a strong plus
- Working knowledge of Excel and email
- Organised, reliable, and willing to follow up until a task is actually closed
- Genuine interest in building a long-term career in logistics and international trade
Good to have (not essential)
- Diploma or certification in logistics, supply chain, or export-import management
- Internship or family exposure to shipping, freight, or export businesses
- Basic understanding of INCOTERMS or export documentation
No prior work experience is required. We will train you.
