Job Title: Senior Accountant – Mining Operations
Role Overview:
The Senior Accountant will oversee the daily financial operations, statutory compliance, and reporting for the mining and dispatch operations. This role requires a strong understanding of rigorous compliance with direct and indirect taxation, as well as state-specific mineral royalty frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Mining-Specific Accounting & Costing
- Freight & Logistics Accounting: Reconcile massive volumes of transport and freight invoices against weighbridge slips and material receipt notes.
2. Statutory Compliance & Taxation
- Direct & Indirect Taxes: Manage end-to-end calculations, returns, and reconciliations for GST, TDS, and TCS.
- Mining Royalties & Levies: Ensure timely and accurate calculation and payment of State royalties, Seigniorage fees, District Mineral Foundation (DMF), and National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET) contributions.
- Waybill & E-Way Bill Management: Oversee the generation and reconciliation of e-way bills and transit passes for mineral dispatch.

3. Financial Reporting & Audit Coordination
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end financial closing processes, ensuring accurate accruals, provisions, and ledger reconciliations.
- Audit Preparation: Prepare comprehensive audit schedules, lead sheets, and working papers. Act as the primary point of contact for internal and statutory auditors to facilitate smooth audit cycles.
- MIS Reporting: Generate monthly MIS reports detailing cost per ton extracted, dispatch volumes, variance analysis against budgets, and working capital status.
4. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Vendor Management: Process payments for heavy equipment suppliers, diesel/fuel vendors, and third-party logistics contractors after rigorous matching with purchase orders and delivery challans.
- Receivables Tracking: Monitor outstanding receivables from major industrial buyers and execute credit control measures.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
- Education: CA-Inter, CMA, or M.Com or B.Com with a strong academic record.
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of core accounting experience, with a minimum of 2–3 years directly within the mining, minerals processing, or heavy manufacturing industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Deep expertise in Indian taxation (GST, TDS/TCS, Income Tax Act) and local statutory filings.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Tally Prime).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for large dataset reconciliation.
- Core Competencies: High attention to detail, strict adherence to deadlines.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
