Position Overview
École Globale International Girls' School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Medical Officer (RMO) to oversee the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff residing on campus. The RMO will be responsible for providing primary medical care, managing medical emergencies, maintaining health records, and ensuring compliance with school health protocols in a residential boarding environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesMedical Care
- Provide primary healthcare services to students and staff.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage common illnesses and minor injuries.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and coordinate referrals or hospital admissions when required.
- Monitor students recovering from illness and determine fitness to resume academic and co-curricular activities.
- Conduct regular health assessments and wellness checks.
Health Centre Management
- Supervise the day-to-day functioning of the school infirmary.
- Maintain accurate medical records, treatment logs, and confidential health documentation.
- Ensure proper storage, dispensing, and inventory management of medicines and medical supplies.
- Monitor hygiene, sanitation, and infection control measures within the health centre.
Student Health & Wellness
- Counsel students on personal hygiene, nutrition, mental well-being, and preventive healthcare.
- Monitor students with chronic medical conditions or special healthcare needs.
- Coordinate vaccination drives, health screenings, and awareness programmes.
Coordination & Administration
- Liaise with parents regarding student health concerns and treatment updates.
- Coordinate with hospitals, specialists, diagnostic centres, and emergency services when required.
- Work closely with Housemistresses, Hostel Staff, Teachers, and the School Counsellor to support student welfare.
- Prepare medical reports and maintain statutory health records as required.
Compliance & Emergency Preparedness
- Ensure compliance with applicable medical and health regulations.
- Develop and implement emergency response protocols for medical incidents.
- Conduct first-aid and health awareness training for staff and students.
- Ensure medical equipment is functional and emergency supplies are readily available.
Qualifications
- MBBS from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) / State Medical Council.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 4–6 years of clinical experience.
- Experience in a residential school, hospital, or institutional healthcare setting will be preferred.
