The Textile Fabric Merchandiser will play a crucial role in supporting our design and production teams, ensuring timely delivery of materials that meet product specifications and market demands.
- Develop and execute fabric sourcing strategies in line with design requirements, quality standards, and cost targets.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new fabric suppliers, conducting thorough due diligence on their capabilities, quality control processes, and ethical compliance.
- Manage existing supplier relationships, fostering strong partnerships to ensure consistent quality, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery schedules.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery lead times with fabric mills and suppliers to achieve optimal cost savings and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with the design team to understand seasonal fabric needs, research market trends, and present innovative fabric options.
- Oversee the entire fabric development process, from initial sample requests and lab dips to bulk production approvals, ensuring adherence to specifications.
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures for all incoming fabrics, working with suppliers to resolve any quality issues promptly.
- Track and manage fabric inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock without excess, and coordinating with production planning to meet manufacturing schedules.
- Prepare detailed reports on fabric costs, supplier performance, and market trends to inform strategic decision-making.
- Stay abreast of industry innovations, new fabric technologies, and sustainable sourcing practices.
- Coordinate with logistics and customs departments to ensure smooth and timely delivery of fabrics.
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to fabric orders, shipments, or quality with a proactive approach.
