- Authorized to execute hardware testing, debugging, and validation activities on circuit boards and systems as per approved test procedures. Authorized to perform board rework, rapid prototyping fixes, and document test/debug findings for the Design Head's review. Authorized to operate and maintain lab test equipment and enforce lab safety practices. Not Authorized to approve design changes, certification signoffs, budgets, or external commitments. Main Role The Hardware Test Engineer is responsible for the physical testing, validation, and debugging of electronic circuit boards and hardware systems. Regular Duties and Responsibilities Sr. No Functions % 1 Core Electronics & Debugging Apply a strong foundational understanding of analog and digital electronics, circuit design, and component-level operations to validate hardware performance. 10% 2 Execute comprehensive board bring-up procedures and perform deep root-cause debugging to identify and resolve hardware faults, short circuits, or design flaws 10% 3 Monitor and analyze system logs and firmware-hardware interactions using serial debugging tools (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C interfaces) 10% 4 Test Equipment & Instrumentation Set up and operate standard benchtop instrumentation for signal analysis and component verification, including Oscilloscopes, Digital Multimeters, and LCR Meters. 15% 5 Design and document repeatable test setups to measure voltage, current, frequency, and component tolerances under various load conditions. 15% 6 RF & Wireless Validation - Test and validate wireless communication interfaces, applying a practical understanding of mesh networks and RF topology. 10% 7 Evaluate antenna performance and signal integrity for connected devices to ensure reliable data transmission across the network. 10% 8 Assembly, Rework & Lab Safety - Perform precision soldering, desoldering, and general PCB assembly for rapid prototyping, component swapping, and board rework. 10% 9 Strictly adhere to and enforce ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safe practices and proper PCB handling procedures to prevent microscopic component degradation. 4% 10 Maintain a safe and organized hardware laboratory environment, ensuring all high-voltage equipment is properly grounded and calibrated.
