FloatSys India Pvt Ltd is a provider of value-added services to the maritime industry worldwide. Currently we are in search of a Design Assistant to strengthen our office in Kochi, India. Roles and responsibilities for the position, inter alia include the following:
Roles and Responsibilities
- Preparation of 2D drawings including general arrangements, structural plans, outfitting layouts, and detail drawings for marine and offshore projects.
- Good knowledge in 2D drafting using AutoCAD and preparation of production-ready drawings in compliance with project standards and specifications.
- Experience in extraction of data from 3D models in CADMATIC and conversion into accurate 2D drawings.
- Ability to review drawings submitted by basic and detailed designers for consistency, dimensional accuracy, and adherence to applicable standards and client requirements.
- Capability to work against targets within defined timelines and coordinate with naval architects and engineers to incorporate design changes.
- Good communication skills with working knowledge of English/Hindi.
- Any other roles or responsibilities assigned to you from time to time by the management.
Person recruited will be on training for the initial 6 months period.
Required Qualifications
- Technical Education: Plus Two or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Experience: Minimum One (01) year post qualification experience in Shipyards, Heavy Engineering, Marine and Offshore fields.
- Software Skills (Mandatory): AutoCAD, MS Office.
- Cadmatic E-Browser (Desirable).
- Able to read, analyse, and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and technical specifications accurately.
- Relevant shipyard, marine or offshore design experience is desirable.
- Capability to work against targets within defined timelines with keen attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team of engineers and designers.
- Good communication skills with working knowledge of English and Hindi.
- Excellent spatial awareness and ability to visualize technical components in two and three dimensions.
Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
