Role Description The Costing Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sriperumbudur. In this role, the individual will analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and process plans to develop accurate cost estimates for aerospace, medical, and industrial components. Day-to-day responsibilities include evaluating material requirements, machining and fabrication processes, labor hours, and overheads to prepare quotations and pricing proposals. The Costing Engineer will collaborate closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams to validate assumptions, optimize cost structures, and support make-or-buy decisions. The role also involves monitoring actual production costs versus estimates, refining costing models, and contributing to continuous improvement in profitability and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in cost estimation and analysis, including experience with manufacturing cost breakdowns (materials, labor, machine time, overhead).
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications, with a solid understanding of machining, fabrication, and assembly processes.
- Knowledge of aerospace, medical, or industrial manufacturing standards and practices, with the ability to apply them to costing and process planning.
- Competence in using ERP or costing software, along with intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and other analytical tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and numerical accuracy, with the ability to work with timelines and multiple projects.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and present cost insights to stakeholders.
- Prior experience in a precision manufacturing environment or component costing in aerospace, medical, or industrial sectors is an advantage.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement in processes and cost structures.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
