Job Description – Senior Site Engineer - Building & Architectural Inspection

About the opportunity
Based at Site which is located about 70 Kms from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This is for a critical Marine Infrastructure Project for a government client.
Reporting will be to Resident Engineer Building & Architectural.
Building & Architectural Works Inspection . Carry out inspection and supervision of building and architectural works including foundations, substructure, superstructure, masonry, finishes and associated civil works. Ensure execution is in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and applicable standards.
Utility Buildings . Inspect construction works for utility buildings such as substations, pump houses, control rooms, workshops, O&M buildings and ancillary structures. Verify dimensions, levels, reinforcement, concreting, finishing works and interface readiness.
Utility Services – Civil Works . Inspect civil works for laying of utility services including water supply, sewerage, stormwater drainage, firefighting networks, underground services, cable trenches, ducts, manholes and chambers. Check alignment, levels, slopes, bedding, backfilling and reinstatement works.
Quality Control . Monitor workmanship, materials and construction methods to ensure compliance with approved quality requirements. Identify non‑conformances, raise inspection observations and verify corrective actions at site.
Coordination & Interface Support . Coordinate with contractors, survey teams, MEP works and other discipline inspectors to resolve day‑to‑day site issues. Support interface management between building works and utility installations.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) . Ensure construction activities under inspection adhere to approved HSE plans, safe work procedures and statutory safety requirements. Report unsafe acts and conditions.
Reporting & Documentation . Maintain daily site inspection records, checklists, measurement records, photographs and inspection reports. R eview and advise approval for technical submittals, method statements, contractor payments. Provide timely inputs to the Resident Engineer on progress, quality and site issues.
Here's what you'll need
About You
Graduate in Civil Engineering with 5 to 8 years of experience
or
Diploma in Civil Engineering with 12 to 15 years of experience.
Experience in execution and inspection of:
Utility buildings and other building works
Civil works for underground and above‑ground utility services
Experience on infrastructure or industrial projects is essential.
Technical Skills
Working knowledge of building construction practices, finishes and utility structures.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and utility drawings.
Familiarity with relevant Indian Codes, standards and site quality practices.
Understanding of inspection procedures, checklists and site documentation
Personal Attributes
Strong attention to detail and quality awareness.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work effectively in site‑based, multi‑disciplinary environments.
Safety‑conscious, disciplined and professional in approach.
Comfortable working in remote, industrial or marine project locations.
