Job description:
NOC Technical Engineer – Level 2 (L2) to join our Network Operations Center (NOC). The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, escalating, and resolving network incidents related to MPLS, VPLS, GPON, Broadband, IPTV, and Dedicated Internet Leased Line (ILL) services while ensuring maximum network availability and SLA compliance.
You will work closely with the L1 NOC team, Field Engineers, and Network Engineering teams to deliver reliable network operations and an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network health and alarms using Zabbix, SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, or other NMS/EMS tools.
- Perform Level 2 troubleshooting for MPLS, VPLS, Broadband, GPON, IPTV, and Dedicated Leased Line services.
- Diagnose and resolve network faults, service degradation, and connectivity issues.
- Coordinate with L1 NOC engineers and Field Support teams for onsite troubleshooting and service restoration.
- Escalate complex incidents to L3 Engineers or Network Engineering teams within SLA timelines.
- Perform routine maintenance activities, including interface resets, port troubleshooting, and device reloads.
- Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, latency, and packet loss.
- Create, update, and manage incidents using ServiceNow, Remedy, Freshdesk, or similar ticketing systems.
- Maintain SLA, KPI, and KRA targets.
- Prepare incident reports and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in 24×7 rotational shifts and emergency maintenance activities.
Required Technical Skills
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, and NAT.
- Basic knowledge of MPLS (LDP), VPLS/L2VPN, OSPF, and BGP.
- Understanding of GPON, OLT, ONT, and FTTH technologies.
- Knowledge of IPTV architecture, including Multicast, IGMP, and QoS.
- Basic experience in BRAS/BNG log analysis.
- Familiarity with Zabbix, SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios monitoring tools.
- Basic knowledge of Wireshark or packet capture tools is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Linux command line is preferred.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Telecommunications, Networking, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (ISP preferred).
- CCNA certification is mandatory.
- JNCIA or equivalent networking certification is an added advantage.
Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
