As a Finance Lead Consultant for D365FO, you will head up the Finance track in the implementation, enhancement, and optimization of finance processes using Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, finance leadership, technical/development teams, and project management. This role includes strategy, design, execution, oversight, and post-go-live stabilization.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead the finance workstream in full lifecycle D365FO implementation projects: from requirement gathering/discovery, through design, build/configuration, testing (unit/integration/User Acceptance, etc.), data migration, go-live, hyper care, and stabilization.
- Conduct fit-gap analysis: assess business requirements vs standard product capabilities; recommend where to leverage out-of-the-box features vs where customizations are needed.
- Design, configure, and optimize core finance modules, such as: oGeneral Ledger
o Accounts Payable
o Accounts Receivable
o Cash & Bank Management
o Fixed Assets
o Budgeting & Cost Control
o Project Management Accounting
- Provide leadership in financial process re-engineering: helping stakeholders improve R2R (Record-to-Report), P2P (Procure-to-Pay), O2C (Order-to-Cash), budgeting/forecasting, intercompany financials, cost accounting, etc.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Significant experience (10 – 15 years) in functional consulting roles with D365FO / Dynamics AX, implementing finance modules.
- Deep understanding of finance/accounting / corporate finance disciplines: financial statements, journal entries, inter-company transactions, revenue recognition, cost accounting, budgeting, etc.
- Demonstrated hands-on configuration experience of finance modules: GL, AP, AR, Cash & Bank, Fixed Assets, etc. + experience with Project Accounting is a strong plus.
- Strong experience with data migration, integration with external systems, reconciliation, and financial closing processes.
- Ability to produce high-quality documentation: design specs, test docs, training material.
- Leadership / mentoring skills; able to manage and guide junior consultants; possibly lead a finance team or workstream.
- Strong stakeholder communication: able to workshop, present to senior leadership, manage expectations, handle conflict.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
