Job Purpose
To assist in the operation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and safe operation of the solar power plant. The Junior Electrical Supervisor supports the senior team in ensuring maximum plant availability, reliable electrical systems, and adherence to safety standards.

- ITI Electrician / Wireman
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Preferred
- Solar PV Training / Certification
- Valid Electrical Supervisor License
Experience
- 0–3 Years in Electrical Maintenance or Solar Power Plant
- Fresh Diploma candidates with strong practical knowledge may also apply.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Daily Plant Inspection
- Perform daily inspection of the solar plant.
- Check inverter status and operating parameters.
- Inspect PV modules for visible damage.
- Verify ACDB, DCDB, RMU, Transformer, and LT Panels.
- Monitor SCADA alarms and report abnormalities.
- Record equipment observations in the daily logbook.
2. Electrical Maintenance
- Assist in preventive maintenance activities.
- Tighten electrical connections.
- Inspect electrical cables and cable terminations.
- Check earthing and lightning protection systems.
- Measure voltage, current, and insulation resistance.
- Support breakdown rectification under supervision.
3. Solar Plant Maintenance
- Supervise module cleaning activities.
- Inspect module mounting structures.
- Replace damaged fuses, connectors, and minor electrical components.
- Assist in inverter servicing.
- Check junction boxes and string combiner boxes.
4. Preventive Maintenance
- Carry out preventive maintenance as per schedule.
- Complete maintenance checklists.
- Report any defects immediately.
- Ensure tools are used correctly and safely.
5. Breakdown Support
- Attend electrical faults promptly.
- Identify and report fault locations.
- Assist in restoring plant operation.
- Coordinate with the Senior Supervisor during emergency maintenance.
6. Safety Responsibilities
- Wear mandatory PPE at all times.
- Follow Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Follow Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements.
- Maintain safe work practices.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
7. Documentation
- Maintain daily inspection records.
- Update maintenance checklists.
- Record equipment readings.
- Prepare basic maintenance reports.
- Maintain attendance and work records of technicians, if assigned.
8. Team Coordination
- Supervise technicians and helpers during assigned work.
- Ensure work is completed as instructed.
- Coordinate with stores for spare parts.
- Assist OEM engineers during maintenance activities.
9. Housekeeping
- Maintain cleanliness around electrical equipment.
- Ensure cable routing areas remain unobstructed.
- Keep tools and equipment organized.
- Follow 5S practices in the work area.
