Job Summary:
The Production Planning Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring production activities to ensure timely manufacturing and dispatch of cable products as per customer requirements. The role involves coordination with production, stores, purchase, quality, and dispatch departments to maintain smooth production flow, optimum inventory levels, and maximum machine utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans as per sales orders and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with production departments to ensure timely completion of manufacturing targets.
- Monitor raw material availability and coordinate with stores and purchase departments.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and production capacity.
- Track production progress and prepare production status reports.
- Follow up on pending orders and ensure on-time delivery commitments.
- Coordinate with quality department to resolve production-related quality issues.
- Maintain production planning records, MIS reports, and documentation.
- Analyze production delays and suggest corrective actions for improvement.
- Ensure proper coordination between drawing, stranding, insulation, armouring, and packing departments.
- Monitor WIP (Work in Progress) and minimize production losses.
- Support inventory control and reduce excess material stock.
- Work on ERP/software for production planning and data management.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs and safety standards.
Required Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience:
- 2 to 5 years of experience in production planning in cable manufacturing or related manufacturing industry.
- Experience in handling ERP systems and production scheduling preferred.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of production planning and manufacturing processes.
- Good understanding of cable manufacturing operations.
- ERP and MS Excel proficiency.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong coordination and communication abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Production planner having knowledge of IS 7098, IS 694, part 1 & 2 , IS 1554 and other relevant cable manufacturing standard.
Preferred Knowledge:
- Knowledge of LT cable manufacturing process.
- Understanding of inventory management and production scheduling.
- Familiarity with ISO documentation and quality systems.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing plant environment.
- May require coordination across multiple shifts and departments.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
