## Job Description: Track Machine Assistant Operator ### Position Overview The Track Machine Assistant Operator assists in the operation, maintenance, and servicing of heavy track machines used for railway construction, track laying, and maintenance. The role involves performing manual, mechanical, and technical duties under the supervision of the Track Machine Operator or Engineer to ensure safe and efficient track operations. --- ### Key Responsibilities * **Machine Operation Support:** Assist in operating heavy track maintenance machinery (such as tamping machines, ballast regulators, and track stabilizing equipment). * **Maintenance & Repair:** Perform routine pre-operational checks, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. * **Track Site Preparation:** Set up leveling instruments, track lifting jacks, and lining equipment prior to machine operation. * **Safety Compliance:** Monitor track parameters during work, place safety flags/signals, and ensure adherence to railway safety protocols to prevent accidents. * **Data Log Maintenance:** Help maintain daily logs of machine performance, fuel consumption, and track maintenance metrics. --- ### Required Qualifications * **Education:** Diploma in any of the following disciplines from a recognized technical institution: * Mechanical Engineering * Electrical Engineering * Instrumentation Engineering * Mechatronics Engineering * **Physical Fitness:** High physical stamina, excellent vision, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. * **Aptitude:** Strong mechanical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
