Job Summary
Role – Azure & GCP Cloud Engineer SME (L3) – Landing Zone Management • Experience Level - 8 - 12 Years • 8+ years of IT experience • 5+ years in Cloud Engineering / Platform Engineering • 3+ years hands-on Landing Zone design and governance • Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments • Job Location – Hyderabad / Bengaluru • Job Type – Full-Time • Support Model - 24x7 Operational Support & Project Engagements
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities: Landing Zone Management • Design and maintain enterprise landing zones for Azure. • Establish subscription hierarchy, RBAC, IAM, tagging, policies, and guardrails. • Maintain landing zone standards and governance frameworks. • Enable secure onboarding of applications and workloads into cloud platforms. Cloud Platform Engineering • Deploy and manage IaaS and PaaS services. • Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep/CloudFormation). • Automate provisioning and lifecycle management activities. • Manage cloud networking, DNS, routing, firewall, and connectivity services. Security & Compliance • Implement cloud security controls and policies. • Ensure compliance through policy enforcement and automated scans. • Support identity and access management controls. • Drive remediation of compliance and security findings. Operations & Reliability • Act as L3 escalation for cloud platform issues. • Perform root cause analysis and problem management. • Define SLOs/SLIs and reliability standards. • Support backup, disaster recovery, and resiliency testing.
Skill Requirements
Must have Skills: Technical: • Multi-Cloud Expertise: Proven experience managing large-scale Azure and GCP environments. • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Expert-level proficiency with Terraform for multi-cloud provisioning. • Containerization: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). • DevOps & CI/CD: Deep knowledge of Azure DevOps for managing repos and building pipelines. • Cloud Networking: Strong understanding of hybrid networking, including SDWAN, DNS, and cloud firewalls. • Databases: Familiarity with managing and monitoring various database systems (e.g., MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle). • Virtualization: Experience with VMware and on-premise datacenter environments. • Security: Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and implementing security in CI/CD pipelines. Non-Technical: • L3 Incident & Escalation Management: Ability to lead high-pressure troubleshooting bridges, coordinate cross-functional teams during critical (P1/P0) outages, and quickly restore services. • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & Problem Solving: Proficiency in executing structured RCAs, defining long-term preventive actions, and writing clean post-incident reports. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong consultative skills to guide and securely onboard business application teams into the landing zone without compromising compliance. • Operational Dependability (24x7 Support): Strong adaptability and readiness to support a 24x7 operational model, including on-call escalations and project deliverables. • Governance Documentation: Ability to draft clear, enterprise-grade cloud governance frameworks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational runbooks for L1/L2 teams.
Other Requirements
Good to Have Skills: Technical • Automation Scripting: Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or Bash. • Configuration Management: Experience with Ansible. • Monitoring Tools: Experience with Splunk, SolarWinds, or Apptio. • FinOps: Knowledge of cloud cost management and optimization. Non-Technical • ITIL: Knowledge of Incident, Change, and Problem Management workflows. • Agile: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments (Jira/Azure Boards). • Mentorship: Coaching and upskilling L1/L2 engineering teams. 1.4 Soft Skills: • Crisis Management: Ability to lead troubleshooting during high-pressure P1 incidents in a 24x7 environment. • Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical skills to perform structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA). • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with development, security, and network teams. • Mentorship: Experience coaching and upskilling L1/L2 engineers. 1.5 Certifications: Good to have: Professional-level certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Google Pro
