Duties & Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic HR Director, Emerging Markets to lead and support our human resources function across India, Japan, China, Dubai, and Brazil. Working closely with the Global Talent team headquartered in Chicago, Illinois USA, this role ensures that global HR strategies, policies, and processes are in alignment with business objectives while remaining compliant with local employment laws and regulations.
The HR Director will oversee core HR functions including employee relations, compliance with local legal requirements, talent management, performance management, and HR operations across multiple jurisdictions. This role requires a strong understanding of regional HR practices, the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments, and experience working with distributed global teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Regional HR Leadership
- Serve as the primary HR leader for Lincoln's emerging markets, supporting business leaders and employees across multiple locations while helping to build and scale HR programs, processes, and infrastructure to support the firm's continued growth.
- Lead, develop, and oversee a team of HR professionals across emerging markets, providing coaching, direction, and support to ensure consistent delivery of HR programs and services.
- Partner with global HR leadership to implement and execute HR strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Establish, enhance, and standardize HR processes, policies, and programs across the region, balancing local market needs with global consistency and best practices.
- Provide guidance to managers on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent development.
- Partner with the Global Talent, Finance, and business leadership teams to create and support compensation programs across the region, including market benchmarking, salary review processes, compensation planning, and the application of compensation best practices while ensuring alignment with local market conditions and the firm's global compensation philosophy.
- Serve as a confidential resource for employees and leaders.
- Assist in the management of the annual budget as it relates to spend on benefits, wellness, high-level compensation and employee relations matters, working in tandem with Lincoln's Finance function.
Employee Relations & HR Advisory
- Act as a trusted advisor to management and senior leaders across emerging markets on employee relations matters, performance management, and workplace issues.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations matters while ensuring consistency with company policies and local regulations.
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture across regional offices.
Compliance & HR Policy Management
- Stay current on labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices across emerging markets and keep global HR informed where needed.
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and practices remain compliant with regional legal requirements.
- Create and maintain required documentation along the employee lifecycle (e.g., employee leave documentation, transfer letters, separation documents, etc.).
- Partner with Manager of Employee Relations and global Legal (or local outside counsel) on employment-related matters, investigations, and risk mitigation
HR Operations & Systems
- Support and maintain HR processes and data integrity within HR systems, including Workday.
- Partner with the global HRIS team to implement system improvements and ensure effective use of HR technology.
- Oversee regional HR reporting and analytics to support decision-making.
Talent & Performance Management
- Support performance management processes, employee development initiatives, and succession planning.
- Partner with leadership to identify and develop high-potential talent across the region.
- Assist in recruitment and onboarding strategies as needed.
Cultural Ambassador
- Oversee the Mumbai office experience, including day-to-day employee engagement, leadership visibility.
- Serve as a cultural representative, helping shape and sustain Lincoln's value-driven environment.
Global Collaboration
- Work closely with HR colleagues across the Americas, EMEA, and other regions to ensure consistency in global HR practices while adapting to local needs.
- Contribute to global HR initiatives and cross-regional projects.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
- Significant HR experience supporting employees and business leaders in India is required; experience supporting employees and business leaders at a multinational organization across APAC markets, with exposure to Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and broader Middle East employment practices preferred.
- Strong understanding of regional labor laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
- Experience working with HRIS systems, preferably Workday.
- Proven ability to partner with senior leadership and influence decision-making.
- Strong employee relations experience, including handling sensitive workplace matters.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a global or multinational organization.
- Experience supporting HR operations across multiple countries simultaneously.
