The Opportunity:
The Denials Specialist is responsible for managing and resolving insurance claim denials to ensure accurate reimbursement and maintain revenue integrity. This role involves analyzing denial reasons, coordinating appeals, and collaborating with internal teams to correct errors and resubmit claims. The position requires strong knowledge of payer guidelines, medical coding, and healthcare regulations. Denial Review & Analysis: Investigate reasons for claim denials, review account notes and medical records, and determine corrective actions. Appeals Management: Prepare and submit detailed appeal letters to payers, ensuring compliance with payer guidelines and deadlines. Collaboration: Work with billing teams, coders, and clinical staff to correct errors and resubmit claims promptly. Trend Identification: Monitor denial patterns and escalate systemic issues for process improvement. Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of denials, appeals, and resolutions; adhere to HIPAA and regulatory requirements. Customer Service: Communicate professionally with internal teams and external payers to resolve issues efficiently.
