What you'll actually do
Run the operational engine of the business—hiring delivery, process, team performance. Own the numbers and report them honestly, including the ugly ones.
Build and lead a team, and know each function well enough to call BS. Find the bottlenecks before they become fires.
Build systems and automation instead of throwing people at problems.
Who you are
You've operated at a startup before—ideally you've founded or run something where the buck stopped with you.
You're comfortable making judgment calls without a playbook.
You don't need hand-holding and you don't wait for permission.
You're technical enough to build your own tooling, or at least spec it properly.
You communicate directly—no padding, no spin.
If you need a fully-defined role with clear boundaries, this isn't it. The role is what you make it.
Nice to have
Comfort with tools like Airtable, Make, Slack APIs, light scripting. A bias toward automating yourself out of repetitive work.

These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
