Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Manager – Accounts to support the organization's accounting and financial operations. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of financial accounting, reporting, statutory compliance, taxation, and audit processes.
The role will be responsible for ensuring accurate accounting records, assisting in the preparation and analysis of Profit & Loss Statements, Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, and financial reports, and supporting the Accounts Manager and management in day-to-day financial activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting & Reporting
- Handle day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate maintenance of books of accounts.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual Profit & Loss Statements, Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements.
- Support timely month-end and year-end financial closing.
- Reconcile general ledger, bank accounts, vendor accounts, and customer accounts.
- Assist in preparing financial and management reports.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
Financial Management
- Monitor revenues, expenses, and outstanding balances.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Conduct basic variance analysis and highlight significant deviations to management.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls.
- Assist in improving accounting processes and procedures.
Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Professional Tax, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Assist in preparing and filing statutory returns.
- Coordinate with auditors and consultants for statutory, internal, and tax audits.
- Maintain proper records and documentation for statutory compliance.
- Assist in responding to audit queries and ensuring timely closure of audit observations.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Verify purchase invoices, expense bills, and payment requests.
- Monitor vendor payments and customer receivables.
- Follow up on outstanding receivables and maintain aging reports.
- Ensure proper accounting of receipts, payments, and adjustments.
- Assist in maintaining effective working capital controls.
Team Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the accounts team.
- Allocate routine accounting responsibilities and monitor completion.
- Guide junior team members on accounting procedures and documentation.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve accounting and financial issues.
- Support the Accounts Manager in implementing accounting policies and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) – Mandatory.
- M.Com, CA Inter, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in accounting and finance.
- Experience in Hospitality, Manufacturing, FMCG, or Plantation industries will be preferred.
- Hands-on experience in financial accounting, reporting, taxation, audits, and statutory compliance.
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of Profit & Loss Statement, Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Good understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance.
- Knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, and variance analysis.
- General ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
- Audit coordination and internal financial controls.
- Proficiency in Tally, ERP systems, and MS Excel.
- Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate with the accounts team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
