You will get exposure to content featuring business owners, entrepreneurs, investors, advisors, and industry leaders from Canada, the United States, and around the world.
About the Role
We are looking for a video editor who [understand] YouTube retention, hooks, pacing, storytelling, watch time, and audience engagement.
This is not primarily a cinematic editing role. We want someone who can turn long-form business, podcast, webinar, and educational content into strong YouTube videos and short-form clips.
You will also be expected to contribute ideas on how scripts, hooks, structure, and content can be improved before and after recording.
What You’ll Do
- Edit long-form YouTube videos
- Create Shorts, Reels, and other short-form content
- Identify strong moments from raw footage independently
- Improve hooks, pacing, and the first 30 seconds
- Remove repetition and sections that hurt retention
- Use B-roll, text, graphics, zooms, and sound design where appropriate
- Suggest improvements to scripts, transitions, examples, and overall structure
- Review content performance and audience-retention data
- Bring proactive ideas to improve [the] videos we create
What We’re Looking For
- 1 to 2 years of video editing experience
- Experience with both long-form and short-form content
- Strong understanding of YouTube and audience retention
- Good storytelling and pacing instincts
- Ability to identify strong hooks and clip-worthy moments
- Ability to explain your editing decisions
- Proficiency with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar software
- Strong ownership, communication, and time-management skills
- Someone who actively studies successful YouTube [content] and understands why it performs

You will have flexibility to organize your own working time as long as deadlines, communication, and quality standards are met.
We expect you to take responsibility for your work, manage your own workflow, identify problems proactively, and bring solutions instead of waiting for detailed instructions.
The goal is to reach a point where you can be given raw footage and a [brief] and take ownership of creating the strongest possible video from it.
