Roles and Responsibilities
A Physical Education (PE) Instructor plays a vital role in promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship, and overall well-being among students. The major roles and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Planning and Conducting Physical Education Classes
The instructor plans, organizes, and conducts regular physical education classes as per the curriculum, ensuring age-appropriate exercises, games, and sports activities.
2. Physical Fitness Development
They design fitness programs to improve students’ strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, and overall physical health.
3. Teaching Sports Skills and Techniques
The instructor trains students in various indoor and outdoor games, athletics, yoga, and martial arts, focusing on proper techniques and rules of the games.
4. Promoting Health and Wellness
They educate students about healthy lifestyles, physical hygiene, nutrition, posture, and the importance of regular physical activity.
5. Organizing Sports and Games
The PE instructor organizes intramural and inter-school sports competitions, annual sports meets, and physical training programs.
6. Ensuring Safety and Injury Prevention
They ensure safety during physical activities by supervising students, maintaining discipline, providing warm-up and cool-down exercises, and offering first aid when required.
7. Assessment and Evaluation
The instructor assesses students’ physical performance, participation, and progress, and maintains records of attendance and achievement.
8. Identifying and Nurturing Talent
They identify students with sports talent and provide guidance and coaching to help them excel at higher levels of competition.
9. Maintenance of Sports Equipment
The instructor is responsible for the proper use, storage, and maintenance of sports equipment and playground facilities.
10. Discipline and Team Spirit
They instill discipline, teamwork, leadership, cooperation, and sportsmanship among students through physical activities.
11. Inclusive Participation
The instructor encourages participation of all students, including those with special needs, by adapting activities to suit individual abilities.
12. Coordination and Collaboration
They work closely with school authorities, teachers, coaches, and parents to support students’ physical and emotional development.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
