Designation: Utility Fitter
Department: Mechanical Maintenance / Utilities
Location: Ductile Iron Pipe Plant
Job Summary
Responsible for maintenance, repair, and smooth operation of utility equipment and systems such as compressors, pumps, pipelines, cooling towers, water systems, air systems, hydraulic systems, and other plant utilities to ensure uninterrupted production.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of utility equipment.
- Repair and replace pumps, valves, pipelines, bearings, couplings, and other mechanical components.
- Monitor and maintain compressed air, water, cooling, and hydraulic systems.
- Attend breakdowns and restore equipment within the specified time.
- Perform alignment, fitting, assembly, and dismantling of utility equipment.
- Ensure proper lubrication of utility machinery.
- Identify abnormalities and report to the supervisor.
- Follow safety procedures, LOTO practices, and permit systems.
- Maintain housekeeping in utility areas.
- Record maintenance activities in logbooks/checklists.

Qualification
- ITI Fitter / Mechanical Trade
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
Experience
- 2–8 years of experience in utility maintenance in manufacturing plants, steel plants, DI pipe plants, cement plants, or power plants.
