Turner / Lathe Operator
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Turner / Lathe Operator to set up and operate lathe machines to produce precision metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and quality standards to ensure accurate and efficient production.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate conventional and/or CNC lathe machines.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, attachments, and materials for each job.
- Perform precision turning, drilling, boring, threading, and facing operations.
- Monitor machining operations to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Measure finished components using micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Maintain required tolerances and surface finishes.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure proper lubrication and cleanliness.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments.
- Follow safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.
- Document production data and report any defects or irregularities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- ITI / Technical certification in Machining, Turner Trade, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Turner or Lathe Operator in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of machining principles and metal properties.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
- Basic understanding of CNC programming (preferred, if applicable).
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
