The opportunity
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to join our EMEA Payroll team. In this role, you will support the accurate and timely processing of payroll across multiple EMEA countries while ensuring compliance with local regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing payroll operations across countries such as France, Spain, Belgium, Lithuania, and other EMEA jurisdictions, with strong analytical skills, payroll accounting knowledge, and experience working with global payroll systems and providers.
This is a hybrid role based in our Bangalore office. General working hours for this role will be 2pm-11pm IST during the weekdays.
What you'll be doing

Manage end-to-end payroll processing for assigned EMEA countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local statutory requirements.

Partner with payroll vendors and in-country payroll providers to process monthly payrolls, validate results, and resolve payroll discrepancies.

Review and validate payroll inputs, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, benefits, equity transactions, absences, and other payroll-related transactions.

Perform detailed payroll audits and reconciliations to ensure payroll accuracy and data integrity.

Prepare and review payroll reports, statutory filings, and year-end activities as required.

Support payroll accounting activities, including payroll journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.

Investigate and resolve complex payroll, tax, social security, and accounting-related queries from employees, HR, Finance, and external providers.

Partner closely with HR, People Operations, Finance, Accounting, Tax, Mobility, and Benefits teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.

Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to payroll.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements (where applicable), and payroll governance standards.

Assist with internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation and supporting schedules.

Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, automation, and employee experience.

Participate in payroll-related projects, system implementations, acquisitions, integrations, and process improvement initiatives.

Maintain payroll procedures, documentation, and process maps to support operational excellence.

Monitor legislative and regulatory changes impacting payroll operations across EMEA countries.
What we're looking for
-
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

5–7 years of payroll experience supporting multiple EMEA countries.

Hands-on experience processing payroll for countries such as France, Spain, Belgium, Lithuania, and other EMEA jurisdictions.

Strong understanding of payroll legislation, statutory requirements, taxation, social security, and employment-related payroll practices across EMEA.

Experience working with global payroll platforms such as Workday, CloudPay, ADP, and other in-country payroll providers.

Strong payroll accounting knowledge, including payroll journals, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and payroll-related financial reporting.

Experience handling large-volume payroll reconciliations and complex payroll data analysis.

Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data validation techniques.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Flexibility to work in UK business hours.

Professional payroll certification or accounting qualification is a plus.

This range reflects the anticipated base salary for this position. Beyond base salary, this role may be eligible for equity awards and participation in our company incentive plans (such as annual discretionary bonuses or sales commissions). The final offer amount will depend on several factors, including geographic location and the candidate’s relevant experience, professional background, and skill set.
