Job Profile:
To take complete ownership and control of all financial, taxation, statutory, transport, insurance, and asset-related functions of the school and the managing trust.
This role is critical to ensure 100% compliance, financial discipline, asset safety, and smooth operational functioning. The position requires a highly experienced professional capable of independently managing all responsibilities and acting as the single point of accountability.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
1. Accounts & Financial Management
- Maintain and oversee complete accounting of school and trust.
- Handle day-to-day accounting, ledger management, and finalization of accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy in receipts, payments, payroll, and fund utilization.
- Monitor cash flow and financial health of the institution.
2. Income Tax & TDS Management
- Handle Income Tax returns for school and trust.
- Independently manage Income Tax notices, scrutiny, and assessments.
- Ensure proper TDS deduction, filing, reconciliation, and compliance.
- Maintain all tax-related records and documentation.
- Coordinate with tax consultants and represent the institution when required.
3. Audit & Statutory Compliance
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with Income Tax Act, Trust regulations, and CBSE requirements.
- Maintain proper records for audit verification and inspections.
- Ensure zero non-compliance and penalties.
4. Transport & School Bus Management
- Take full responsibility for all school buses and vehicles.
- Ensure compliance for:
- Permits
- Fitness certificates
- Insurance
- Road tax
- Pollution certificates
- Monitor vehicle maintenance, expenses, and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to student transport safety norms.
5. Insurance Management
- Handle all insurance policies including:
- School buses
- Buildings
- Assets and equipment
- Ensure timely renewal of policies.
- Manage and follow up on insurance claims.
- Ensure adequate risk coverage for all assets.
6. Asset & Property Management
- Maintain complete records of:
- Land and property documents
- School buildings and infrastructure
- All movable and immovable assets
- Ensure compliance with government regulations related to land and buildings.
- Monitor financial aspects of construction, expansion, and maintenance works.
- Safeguard institutional assets through proper documentation and control.
7. Legal & Government Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- Trust laws and regulations
- CBSE norms
- Local and state government rules
- Handle documentation, approvals, and permissions related to buildings and land.
- Liaise with government authorities, legal advisors, and departments.
8. Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Prepare annual budgets for school and trust.
- Conduct variance analysis and cost control.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
- Support decision-making with data-driven financial reports.
9. Banking & Coordination
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Handle transactions, documentation, and financial negotiations.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
10. Supervision & Internal Control
- Supervise accounts staff and related personnel.
- Implement strong internal control systems and processes.
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and accountability in all operations.
- Monitor all activities to ensure smooth and error-free functioning.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in accounting and compliance.
- Proven experience in school and/or trust accounting.
- Strong expertise in:
- Income Tax & TDS
- Audit handling
- Compliance and documentation
- Practical knowledge of:
- School transport systems (buses, permits, etc.)
- Insurance handling
- Land and asset management
- Proficiency in Tally / accounting software and MS Excel.
- Ability to independently manage full responsibility without supervision.
- Strong leadership, monitoring, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, discipline, and accountability.
