Key Responsibilities
- Assist in pre-event setup of tables, chairs, buffet counters, service stations and dining areas.
- Ensure tables are properly set with cutlery, crockery, glassware, napkins and other service equipment.
- Welcome and assist guests professionally throughout the event.
- Provide efficient food and beverage service during weddings, corporate events, conferences, parties and other outdoor catering functions.
- Serve food at buffet counters, live counters and table service areas as required.
- Refill buffet dishes, accompaniments, cutlery, crockery and service items promptly.
- Maintain the appearance, cleanliness and hygiene of buffet and dining areas throughout the event.
- Assist guests with menu-related queries and provide information about dishes when required.
- Coordinate closely with Chefs, Supervisors, Captains and Event Managers to ensure smooth service.
- Monitor guest requirements and respond quickly to requests or special needs.
- Clear used plates, glasses and cutlery from tables efficiently and safely.
- Maintain proper service etiquette, grooming and professional body language.
- Assist with event breakdown and packing of service equipment after completion of the function.
- Handle crockery, glassware and catering equipment carefully to minimize breakage and wastage.
- Follow company standards for food safety, hygiene, grooming and guest service.
- Be willing to travel to different event venues and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Support the team during high-volume events and ensure the event area remains guest-ready at all times.
- Perform other duties assigned by the ODC Captain, Supervisor or Event Manager.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum 10th / 12th pass preferred.
- Experience: 0–3 years in hotel, restaurant, catering, banquet or ODC operations.
- Freshers: Candidates with a positive attitude and willingness to learn may apply.
- Good communication and guest-handling skills.
- Basic knowledge of food & beverage service and table etiquette.
- Must be well-groomed, polite, punctual and presentable.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced event environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to travel to different event venues as required.
- Physically fit and comfortable with standing and moving for extended periods.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions from Captain, Supervisor and Event Manager.
- Basic knowledge of buffet service, table setup.
