Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Clinical Support (Under Supervision Only)
- Assist the RMO in routine patient monitoring and ward rounds.
- Observe and report changes in patients’ vital signs and clinical condition to the RMO.
- Assist during emergency response by arranging equipment, medications, and logistics as directed.
- Support RMO during procedures without independently prescribing or performing allopathic interventions.
- Assist in patient transfer, admissions, and discharge processes.
The Assistant RMO shall NOT independently diagnose, prescribe allopathic medicines, or perform invasive procedures.
Patient Care & Coordination
- Act as a communication link between RMO, nursing staff, consultants, and support services.
- Counsel patients and attendants regarding routine care processes as instructed.
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and adherence to hospital protocols.
Documentation & Records
- Assist in maintaining patient case sheets, observation charts, and nursing coordination notes.
- Prepare draft discharge summaries, referral notes, and investigation requisitions for RMO review and authentication.
- Ensure timely completion and organization of medical records as per NABH standards.
Emergency & Night Support
- Assist RMO during emergencies, Code Blue, and ward calls.
- Ensure prompt communication and escalation of critical cases.
- Maintain emergency logs and assist in night duty documentation.
Medico-Legal & Ethical Responsibilities
- Assist RMO/Medical Officers/Senior Consultants & Doctors in handling medico-legal cases as per hospital policy.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical conduct at all times.
- Follow hospital SOPs, IPC guidelines, and patient safety protocols.
Quality & NABH Compliance
- Support compliance with NABH standards related to patient care, documentation, and safety.
- Participate in internal audits, mock drills, and training programs.
- Assist in incident reporting and quality improvement activities.
Training & Professional Development
- Attend hospital training programs, CMEs, and skill development sessions.
- Keep updated with hospital protocols and scope-of-practice guidelines.
- Participate in CMEs, drills (Code Blue, Fire, Disaster), and internal training programs.
- Ensure attendance in all meetings and trainings as and when scheduled by Hospital management.
