Role description
We are looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Engineer to build, refine, and maintain scalable web and core application systems. The ideal candidate is a full‑stack developer with strong expertise in the Ruby on Rails ecosystem, capable of working across backend and frontend layers, with a foundational understanding of cloud infrastructure, databases, and modern CI/CD practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust web and core application features using Ruby on Rails
- Assess Existing code, write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices
- Collaborate with product, design, and QA teams to deliver high‑quality features
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security
- Maintain and improve existing codebases and participate in refactoring efforts
- Work with RESTful APIs and integrate third‑party services
- Perform code reviews and support junior engineers when needed
- Participate in deployment, troubleshooting, and production support activities
Required Technical Skills
- 7–8 years of hands‑on experience with Ruby on Rails (full‑stack development)
- Strong understanding of MVC architecture, Rails conventions, and REST principles
- Experience with frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern JS frameworks/libraries (basic to intermediate level)
- Solid knowledge of SQL databases (e.g., MySQL)
- Basic understanding of NoSQL databases (e.g., Redis)
- Foundational experience with AWS cloud services (such as EC2, S3, RDS)
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and deployments
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with background job processing (e.g., cronjob)
- Knowledge of testing frameworks (RSpec, Minitest)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
